This in-depth course will take about 7-8 hours and is geared for those who handle hazardous waste or develop hazardous wastes management programs. The course covers background, terminology, listed and characteristic wastes, universal waste, waste oil, empty containers, solvent wiper exemptions, generator status satellite accumulation standards, central accumulation standards, manifesting, and land disposal restrictions. Maine specific hazardous waste requirements are addressed.
Online Courses: Students may stop and restart the course at their own pace. The course consists of video, practice problems and an examination. Upon successful completion of an online test, students will be issued a certificate. Students can always call or e-mail an instructor while working on course materials. Students will be provided with an electronic manual that includes all course materials.
